Wylder and Kate met in July of 2021 at Gruene Hall, the oldest dance hall in Texas. They enjoyed a memorable night listening to Del Rio, Texas native Radney Foster play songs like "Raining on Sunday," "Kiss Me in the Dark," and "Texas in 1880."

After returning to the city they call home, Austin, Wylder and Kate waltzed into each other’s lives, spending their days together at some of their favorite places,

like Lake Austin, Las Moras Ranch, and back at Gruene Hall.

In March of 2024, Wylder took a knee on the beautiful beach in Laguna Beach, California, just a few miles from where Kate and her family used to live in Newport Beach.
